Four Easy Steps to Rust-Free Tools
A product of extensive research, Evapo-Rust® rust remover is a water-based rust remover soak that removes rust to bare metal, without any scrubbing or sanding.
Step 1: Prep
In a container, pour enough EVAPO-RUST® to cover the rusted object completely. It is best to remove excess dirt and oil on the object before soaking.
The type of container doesn’t matter since EVAPO-RUST® will not harm unrusted steel, is safe on other metals, and doesn’t affect plastic.
Step 2: Soak
Immerse the rusty object in the solution and leave it for 30 minutes for light rust or up to overnight for extremely heavy rust.
Step 3: Rinse
When finished, rinse the item with water. If deep rust remains in pits, re-immerse it until all the rust is gone. Un-rusted metal will not be affected. NOTE: This stage is especially important in getting the best results.
Step 4: Finish
Allow item to air dry. This will prevent rust for up to two days. Spray with Rust-Block after air drying to prevent re-rusting for up to one year.
EVAPO-RUST® can be re-used until its effectiveness starts to wear off. One gallon of EVAPO-RUST® will remove 1/2 pound of pure dry rust.
When EVAPO-RUST® is spent, in most cases, it can be dumped into the city sewer. You will know that EVAPO-RUST® has lost its effectiveness when the bath is completely black and stops working.
